Are students in jeopardy of losing their football season tickets?


Last Friday, August 27th, some UT students received unfortunate news in an email.

Those students received the following message:

Your UT Athletics student ticket account is currently listed as Inactive for one of two reasons:

(1) Your Registration/Tuition Bill hasn't been processed/paid. OR (2) You're not considered to be an official UT Student according to University rules and regulations.

STUDY: UT ranked No. 5 in community involvement


The University of Texas ranked fifth in this month’s Washington Monthly magazine listing of universities that serve the “Public Good.” The universities were ranked based on their students’ overall contribution to the public welfare, and the article used multiple socially conscious categories to determine the overall winners.

Like previous years, the Texas Longhorns will have an exceptionally talented team this season. One thing that is different heading into the first week of the much anticipated 2010-2011season is the press from the freshmen class to see the field during their first year on campus. Some have impressed the coaches more than others during this summer’s workouts and are on the radar for invaluable playing time.

Mack Brown released the depth chart on Monday, and it is filled with 13 true freshmen all looking to see the gridiron soon. Here’s a look at most of them eager to get on the field in

New UT admission center now open in East Texas


UT opened a new admissions center in Longview, Texas, Saturday.

The East Texas Admission Center opened at 10 a.m. under the direction of Mario Villa. Villa, a UT graduate, has worked as an admissions counselor for the East Texas region for over two years. His staff includes UT graduates and current admissions counselors Brittany Fiveash and Claire Mizell.

The center, like others located throughout the state in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, will serve to provide prospective students the opportunity for admission help and application tips.
