The NFL Scouting Combine kicked off over the weekend giving the media and the NFL a close look at some of the biggest college stars that will be entering the 2011 Draft in April.
To some people it is seen as a great way to scout players and predict their future success in the NFL. To others it is just seen as a circus that doesn’t really prove if the player is a winner or how much heart they may have.
I seem to fall somewhere in the middle.
Yes, I understand how the NFL playoffs work and yes, winning a division gives a team a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. But, I don’t think that the Seattle Seahawks should have been in the tournament with a 7-9 record!!!
The NFC West division as a whole was the worst statistical division with a combined 25-39 record. The Seahawks are also the first sub-500 team to win a division title and make it to the post season. Here is my case for the teams that Seattle should sub in for the 6th seed.
Just read about about the Chavez High v. Yates High basketball game from two weeks ago. I thought it was pretty interesting and hilarious that Chavez stopped trying to score and just held the ball to keep Yates from getting to 100 points.
Yates is a powerhouse here in Texas when it comes to basketball. They even won the Rivals High National Title last year.
I hate teams that like to pad the stats, so I tip my hat to Chavez for coming up with such a funny strategy. Last year, Yates beat Houston Lee 170-35.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorites holidays because of two things: Food and Football!!!
My mouth is already watering just thinking about the turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and the rest of the food that will be sitting on my lap on Thursday.
But what could make this day so much better?
Oh, I don’t know? Maybe, Football!
