Monday
Temper Trap is coming to town and if you didn’t get a chance to snatch some tickets to their concert at Stubb’s, you’re in luck. The band is playing a free in-store set at Waterloo Records with refreshments provided by Shiner. Take a lunch break and get there early. The set starts at 2 p.m.
Tuesday
Rent one get another rental free at Volcan Videos every Tuesday and Wednesday. Catch up on the summer blockbusters and watch all of the "Batman," "Spiderman," "Avengers" and "Men in Black" movies before you see them in theaters.
Wednesday
Blues on the Green is back at Zilker Park for it’s 22nd season. This week features Rhett Miller and the Wheeler Brothers. Grab a blanket and some chairs then head down to a nice evening of music. There is even an area to learn how to volunteer at area organizations. Blues on the Green is every other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday
Starting at 10 p.m. for just $5 you can see some of Austin’s finest comedians at Coldtowne Theater. The show is a mix of stand-up, music, sketches, and more. If you miss it this week they host it the second Thursday of every month.
Friday
Remember when you were a kid and you picked up a twig to pretend you were in Harry Potter? Well The Art Garage is having a free Harry Potter wand-making event that will put your childhood wand to shame. The event starts at 6 p.m. and is family friendly, so bring your little sister and your grandma to have a duel when you’re done. You can RSVP on their Facebook page.
Saturday
Stop by Breed & Co. between noon and 4 p.m. for their Hot off the Grill Event. Chef Joel Welch from Kerbey Lane Café will be serving up some Niman Ranch sliders on Amity Bakery custom buns. There will even be seasonal brews from Brooklyn Brewery and other heat busting treats from Zhi Tea, Delysia Chocolatier, and Lick Honest Ice Creams. Everything is free!
Sunday
This is your official reminder that this Sunday is Father’s Day. Broke and can’t get your pop anything? Take him to the Father’s Day Concert in the Park. Spend the evening listening to classics and Broadway tunes by the Austin Symphonic Band while catching up. He will definitely appreciate it. The music starts at 7:30 p.m. at Zilker’s Hillside Theatre.
