Monday

It’s movie night at Austin Java! Go over for 2 for 1 burgers, drink specials, and a movie. This week they'll be showing “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” starting at 7 p.m.

Tuesday

We all know that free swim at Barton Springs Pool starts at 9 p.m., but this Tuesday there will be live music from Dave Madden to accompany you on your evening swim. His set will last from 8:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Wednesday

I Luv Video and Spider House are hosting a “Blade Runner” costume extravaganza. It starts at 7 p.m. and if you’re in costume you get in for $2, $5 for everyone else. There will be plenty of live music, vendors, drunk twister, musical chairs, trivia and prizes. First 50 people get a swag bag worth waiting in line for. Then, at midnight a special laserdisc screening of “Blade Runner” will be shown.

Thursday

The Blanton Museum of Art has free admission on Thursday. Go check out one of the biggest collections of art in central Texas and consider yourself cultured.

Friday

Friday night is free movie night in Austin. Hyatt Regency Austin is showing “Up” at 6 p.m., Ski Shores Café has “Aquamarine” around 8 p.m., Metz Recreation Center is playing “Free Willy” at 7:30 p.m., and Top Notch is screening “Three Amigos” at 8:30 p.m. All of the movies are free to attend.

Saturday

Every Friday and Saturday the Department of Astronomy at the University of Texas is hosting star gazing parties in Painter Hall. If you’ve never been, you really need to check out our amazing telescope. All summer they will start at 9:00 p.m. and last until 10:30 p.m.

Sunday

Domain II is having music on the plaza all this weekend. On Sunday they’ll be playing a variety of music from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is located between Starbucks and NoRTH restaurant.
