Don't have any plans for this week? Check out some free and cheap events going on in Austin.
Art of Living UT is offering free yoga every Monday in the SAC on campus. The sessions start at 7:30 p.m. in room 2.120, but you’re encouraged to arrive early for breathing and relaxation practices. Just bring a mat and lots of water. No registration required.
The Red 7 is hosting a Workaholics Viewing Party at 8 p.m. Grab some friends and head on down.
Wednesday means 2-for-1 burger night at one of my favorite burger joints, Hut’s, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Better get there early because this place gets packed around dinner time. Have a great meal today and then take a whole other one for tomorrow.
It’s Third Thursday at the Blanton Art Museum. At 6 p.m. they’ll start with a screening of “Herb and Dorothy.” Then, at 6:30 p.m. if you obtained a pass from the Visitor Service Desk you can attend Yoga in the Galleries. They have a book club at 7 p.m. and a public tour at 7:30 p.m. You can get a slice of gourmet pizza and glass of wine combo for $5 during the event.
101X presents Home Grown Live with Hacienda and The Preservation for a 21+ show. The music starts at 10 p.m. at The Blackheart where $2 Shiner bottles will be served.
If you’ve been living in Austin and have never the Texas Rollergirls match you’re missing out. This weekend the Texecutioners are taking on teams from New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco for a two-day tournament at the Austin Convention Center. Check out TexasRollerGirls.org for more info on tickets.
ColdTowne Theatre is letting their level 1, 2, and 3 level improv students throw a pay-what-you-want show at 7 pm. Head on over and see what kind of skills they picked up.
