Monday
If you’ve been looking for a new feline cuddle buddy look no further than the Austin Humane Society. All summer long any cat older than one, is free. You heard me, free cats! Go on in and rescue a new friend. You can check out the Humane Society’s webpage to view available cats then go in and meet them.
Tuesday
Starting this Tuesday the next five Tuesdays are Trailer Food Tuesdays. Some of Austin’s favorite food trucks have joined forces to bring a little flavor to the Long Center at 5 p.m. There will be ten trucks set up on the City Terrace and live music will be provided.
Wednesday
The final 101X Summer Cinema of 2012 takes us back into “Wayne’s World.” Take your blankets, lawn chairs, and buddies to Central Market North and watch it on the inflatable screen. There will be meal and drink deals to go with the screening that starts at 8 p.m.
Thursday
Minor Mishap, Austin’s very own 25-piece brass band will be hosting a full moon canoe show on Barton Creek. Take your tube or your canoe and head to the water, More details about place and time on their event page. You’re sure to be in for a treat.
Friday
Kick off Utopiafest early with a pre-party at Onion Creek Productions from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be free music by Sour Bridges, free booze from many local vendors, and free food by True Nature’s Child. If that’s not enough to get you down there, they’ll even be handing out free swag and tickets to the festival during the party.
Saturday
The 6th Annual Austin Ice Cream Festival is this Saturday at Fiesta Gardens from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ages 9 and over are $10, but it comes with free ice cream. There will be games, music, contests, and more at the event. See the event page for more details on the schedule and more.
Sunday
Go to Antone’s and support Austin School of Music. It’s like School of Rock, but this is real life. They’ll be having a showcase of the rock camp’s efforts at 1 p.m.
