This Week: Ebony Stewart Features at APS

In addition, we're having a regular poetry slam. (12 or 13 poets, cut to 6 in round 2, 3 in the final round, top three poets split $100).
Question - is this a theme slam for Valentine's Day?
Answer - No. You can do love themed work if you want... but it is not required.
The slam will be hosted by Ms. Patti Rice, and backed by DJ Digg on the turntables!

Ebony Stewart has achieved academically, professionally, and personally all while performing community service in the process. In 2007, 2009, and 2011 not only did she become a member of Austin’s Neo-Soul Poetry Slam Team, but competed and is the only Three-Time Slam Champ in Austin, TX. In 2010 Ebony was one of the leading members of Neo-Soul, ranking 4th in the Nation. By 2011 Ebony was the highest ranked female in the state of Texas and was voted Slam Artist of the Year by National Poetry Awards. The Austin Chronicle stated “Ebony is a wide-eyed and physically fluid young woman.” While The Austin American Statesman describes her personality and spoken word style as “beasty.”
