After hinting at an announcement via twitter and leaving Skyrim fans wondering if a DLC unveiling would soon be on the way, Bethesda has finally pulled back the curtains on what's shaping up to be one of its bigger titles this year, "Dishonored."
Dishonored's protagonist, Corvo, is on a quest for vengeance after being framed for the murder of the empress he swore to protect.
Developed by Arkane Studios and co-directed by both Harvey Smith (of Deux Ex fame) and Raf Colantonio (Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Arx Fatalis), the title aims to give players a slew of choices in a dark and depressing dystopian world. With art direction by Viktor Antonov of Half-Life 2 fame, the open-world first-person stealth action/adventure title lets players decide what the best course of action is; whether it's engaging enemies directly in combat, evading them, sneaking in the shadow, or using his supernatural abilities to freeze time itself (shown in trailer) or possess smaller creatures like rats to do reconnaissance.
It looks like Bethesda is putting quite a bit of time and money into Arkane's next venture, and judging by the pedigree that the developer has, it could be a title to keep an eye out for later this year.
