f you’ve heard the Rhode Island-based duo known as Brown Bird you may expect the people behind the music to be the type of dark and mysterious characters one might encounter in an 1800's seaport saloon. Band members and lovers David Lamb and MorganEve Swain have been building a steady following with their unique style of music that blends influences of blues, psych-rock, gypsy and Middle Eastern sounds with lyrics that often come across as ominous and eerie. Brown Bird’s music recalls the past while at the same time offering something completely new and different from other acts making acoustic-based music these days.

On a warm Wednesday evening in July an intimate crowd gathered at Independence Brewery in south Austin, drinking beer and enthusiastically buzzing about the band that was about to take the stage. All of those present were there to take part in the first ever Home Brewed Live, a new live music series that serves to bring Austin's love for music and craft beer under one roof. The series, a collaboration between The Horn and Independence, aims to give the rest of the world a taste of the incredible music and brews coming out of our beloved city.

For our first Home Brewed Live we couldn't have been happier to present a performance from Austin up-and-comers The Eastern Sea. Fresh off a major tour  and successful release of their LP, Plague, the band took the stage to the applause of an adoring audeince. Given the band's love of craft beer and brewing, Independence Brewery proved to be an ideal showcase. So sit back, crack open a cold one, and enjoy the first video from The Eastern Sea's performance at Independence Brewery as part of the first ever Home Brewed Live.
