f you’ve heard the Rhode Island-based duo known as Brown Bird you may expect the people behind the music to be the type of dark and mysterious characters one might encounter in an 1800's seaport saloon. Band members and lovers David Lamb and MorganEve Swain have been building a steady following with their unique style of music that blends influences of blues, psych-rock, gypsy and Middle Eastern sounds with lyrics that often come across as ominous and eerie. Brown Bird’s music recalls the past while at the same time offering something completely new and different from other acts making acoustic-based music these days.

Saveur Seeking: New Orleans

Back in February the Saveur Seeking crew decided it was time to take our show on the road, and we were lucky enough to be within driving distance of a city everyone can agree is a food and culture destination. No, I’m not talking about Houston.

Anyone who’s spent time in New Orleans knows of its allure. Food and music are a vital part of a rich culture that, while sometimes defying all logic, always provides you with an experience you couldn’t have anywhere else. Whether you can remember them or not, it’s hard to leave the Big Easy without great stories.

We went to New Orleans to film the places and things we love in the city. In the process we discovered plenty of new things we hadn't known about before the trip. While we got a bit sloppy at times, this Saveur Seeking shoot was completely different than any other places we've filmed. We ate good food, heard great music, and got to meet some truly amazing people.

After several months sifting through hours of footage, Saveur Seeking is back with the first part of our biggest episode yet! -Neil Ferguson

Note: Watch in 720p for best quality!
