As hard as it may be to believe, we care more about the student body and the future of this University than actually having the title of Student Body President or Vice President on our resumes.

Official Statement Regarding the Elections:
Wills and I have been frequently asked how we feel about the election and the accompanying lawsuit, disqualifications, etc. Everyone has asked for our story, our opinions, our thoughts. To tell the entire story and answer all these questions would require a book. That is not necessary though because it is not about us. It has never been. It is about the students. It is about ensuring that they have a student body president who puts the interests of the student body over his/her personal interests.
We are here to ensure that the students have leaders who throw their egos aside and serve the people who make UT the greatest university in the world. Some may point out that we lack student government experience. We see that as an advantage. We come to the table with a clean plate. We have no bias to particular individuals or communities within student government. We are open minded with each person we meet and we look to bring together people who care more about the student body than themselves. We realize that there is an advantage to knowing how student government operates. These things can be taught. We are learning quickly. What can not be taught however are good intentions, and that is where we have the upper hand. As hard as it may be to believe, we care more about the student body and the future of this University than actually having the title of Student Body President or Vice President on our resumes.
With that said we look forward to the coming weeks. We will continue to stay positive and focus on how we can make the most of our extended time before the election. This has been an exciting and inspiring experience. We love meeting new people every day. We love reaching out to students across campus. We love the University of Texas. There is no place or situation we would rather be.
Thank you and Hook 'em Horns!
