In the wake of the controversy surrounding his possible termination, UT Spokesman Gary Susswein sent this email out to the University of Texas community Thursday evening with a statement from President Bill Powers:

I love The University of Texas, and it’s an honor to serve as its president. I am deeply grateful for the support of our students, faculty, staff, and the thousands of members of the UT family.

I will continue to work with the entire UT community to move the university forward. At this moment, I am focused on the more than 8,000 students who will graduate next week and make immeasurable contributions to society — extending the university’s legacy of excellence and our positive impact on Texas.
